I’m Matt Gress, and I’m running to be your state representative in the new Arizona Legislative District 4. Like so many, I came here from somewhere else: Small town Oklahoma. The youngest of four, we were raised by a single mom in a single wide trailer. We didn’t have much but that never stopped us from dreaming big. I learned the value of hard work, to respect our elders and to count our blessings. I put myself through college driving school buses; and became first in my family to earn my degree. Eventually, I became a public school teacher. Then, I came here to Arizona nearly a decade ago— working as a non-partisan budget analyst at the state Capitol, learning exactly where our tax dollars go.
